The operator of the YouTube channel "Taldeok Detention Center," which produced and distributed fake news about famous celebrities such as Ive Jang Won-young, has been sentenced to probation in prison.

On the 15th, Judge Kim Sa-byul of the Incheon District Court sentenced YouTuber A (36, female) to two years in prison and three years of probation in a sentencing trial on charges of defamation and insults under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communication Network Utilization and Information Protection. In addition, he ordered an additional 200 million won and 120 hours of community service.

From October 2021 to June 2023, A was charged with defamation by posting 23 videos on the YouTube channel of Taldeok concentration camp that slandered seven celebrities, including celebrities and influencer.

As a result of the prosecution's investigation, it was found that A collected 250 million won for two years from June 2021.

Earlier, Jang Won-young filed a lawsuit for damages against A, saying that his reputation was damaged by the continuous spread of false information, and the court ordered A to "pay 100 million won" in January last year when it ruled in favor of the plaintiff.

Singer Kang Daniel, who complained of similar damage, filed a lawsuit against A and received 30 million won in compensation, while group BTS members V and Jungkook also filed a 90 million won lawsuit against A last year.
