The fire, which is believed to be arson, broke out in a vacant lot in front of the Democratic Party of Korea headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, at around 00:10 a.m. on the 15th, ahead of the execution of the second arrest warrant for President Yoon Suk Yeol.

No one was injured, and only some of the exterior walls of the building were scorched, but the fire extinguished in about 10 minutes.

The police, who suspected arson and analyzed CCTV at the scene, identified a man in his 50s who attempted to set himself on fire near the Gwacheon High-ranking Government Officials Crime Investigation Office at around 8 p.m. on the 15th after President Yoon was arrested.

Mr. A, who was taken to the hospital with third-degree burns on his whole body, has not regained consciousness yet.
