Bae Hyung-won, deputy chief of the National Court Administration, said in a questionnaire to the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee today (20th) that most courts set bylaws for judges on duty to take charge of warrant cases received on weekends.
However, he added that in the case of the Seoul Central District Court, many cases have been filed on weekends, and that the division of office has long been set so that judges in charge of warrants can handle work on weekends.
Bae said that considering the seriousness and political aspects of the issue, if the judge in charge of the warrant was in charge of the examination, it could have caused political controversy, and that the judge on duty was in charge of it in consideration of various circumstances.
