Acting President Choi Sang-mok received a report of an outbreak of African swine fever in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province, and issued an emergency order to thoroughly investigate the situation.

The Office for Government Policy Coordination said yesterday (20th) that acting Chief Minister Choi Sang-mok ordered the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs to quarantine and investigate epidemiology in accordance with emergency action guidelines, such as controlling and disinfecting access to the farm where the outbreak occurred.

The Ministry of Environment explained that they ordered to check the fences around the farm where the outbreak occurred and do their best to search for wild boar waste and capture activities.

Earlier, the Central Disaster Management Headquarters for African Swine Fever said yesterday (20th) that it had buried 5,000 pigs raised at a pig farm in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province due to the outbreak of African Swine Fever.
