The number of newborns born in North Jeolla Province has increased in 12 years...The number increased by 205 last year.

Last year, the number of births in Jeonbuk increased for the first time in 12 years to 6,897, up 205 from the previous year.

The number of cities and counties with an increase in births was nine out of 14 in the province, with the largest increase of 137 in Wanju, 57 in Iksan, 32 in Gochang, 23 in Buan, 22 in Namwon, 19 in Jeongeup, Sunchang and Muju, and 17 in Gunsan.

On the contrary, Jeonju (65), Gimje (56), Jinan (12), Jangsu (5), and Imsil (2) saw fewer births.
