Seoul Special Monitoring of Unauthorized Discharge of Wastewater for the Lunar New Year Holiday

The Seoul Metropolitan Government will monitor environmental pollution activities such as unauthorized discharge of wastewater until the 30th for the Lunar New Year holiday.

Accordingly, each autonomous district's environmental department will form a monitoring team to check the normal operation of 148 businesses subject to key inspections, including harmful wastewater discharge businesses such as dyeing and plating, wastewater discharge businesses, and chemical and organic solvent handling businesses before the holidays.

In addition, more than 1,100 vulnerable discharge facilities, such as car wash, are promoted and guided in advance, and a letter of cooperation is sent to induce self-inspection.

During the holiday season, the Seoul Water Regeneration Facility Division operates a water pollution accident response team, including oil spills and unauthorized discharge of wastewater, and 51 monitoring teams in the Seoul Metropolitan Government and autonomous districts will patrol 44 rivers intensively.
