The high-ranking government official's criminal investigation office said this morning that it is not attempting to seek compulsory arrest in light of President Yoon Suk Yeol's decision to appear at the Constitutional Court's impeachment hearing.

An official from the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit said at a regular briefing today that President Yoon made a decision yesterday not to exchange letters in consideration of concerns over the destruction of evidence.

In addition, President Yoon explained that although he is an incumbent president, he is a suspect from the perspective of the investigative agency, and it is the duty of the investigative agency to investigate the suspect, and that the written investigation is not currently being reviewed.

He then added that he is continuing to discuss with the prosecution the timing of turning over President Yoon's case.
