Baek, a man in his 30s who murdered a neighbor in Japan, has been sentenced to death.

The prosecution asked the court today (21st) to sentence Baek to death at the Seoul Western District Court.

The prosecution said that Baek's crime constitutes a premeditated and indiscriminate murder.

The victim's wife said in the previous witness questionnaire that her husband left her without saying hello to her loved family, and Baek appealed that she did not commit the crime while she was mentally and physically weak.

Baek was put on trial on July 29 last year on charges of murdering a neighbor by wielding a 75-cm-long Japanese island at an apartment complex in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul.
