Police send six people responsible for the death accident in Yeoju triathlon.

The police, who have been investigating the accident in which a triathlon participant in Gyeonggi Province Governor Bae Cheol-in died during the competition in August, handed over six people responsible to the prosecution.

The Yeoju Police Station in Gyeonggi Province said today (2nd) that it has sent five officials from the competition suspected of professional negligence and one life-saving worker suspected of violating the Water Leisure Safety Act.

They are accused of not fulfilling their preventive obligations in connection with the accident in which A, a participant in the triathlon competition held in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, died in August.

On the day of the accident, A went missing at around 7:50 a.m. an hour after participating in a swimming event, and was later found dead in the Namhan River near Dangnam-ri Island.
